The question has come up whether you should enable adds on your blog.
What's the cost/benefit decision on hosting adds?
What's the goal of your blog? Does hosting adds support that goal? How do they make your blog feel?
How does a person make money off of adds on your blogger blog? What conditions would support monetizing your blog?

Wont the sums of the renvenue be somthing like 6 cents?
ReplyDeleteGreat point, that's what I was hoping to get at as far as the benefits.
ReplyDeleteHow does one make money through advertising on a website or in this case a blogger blog? What level of traffic would be required to support making anything substantial?
Assuming you could even make 6 cents (and that raises the question of what increment blogger pays out at?), is that worth anything to you? Is it worth anything to blogger/google?
It highly depends on whether you want to take the blog seriously, if you post interesting things and you get some traffic to your blog you can make some side money, for low traffic sites I believe it's .01 per click, it can get up to a dollar a click in some of the higher viewed blogs. I think Adsense isn't very intrusive and can benefit the reader.
ReplyDeleteI'd say go for it and put up adds because even if it's 6 cents we can get every student in the engineering classes to follow and constantly look at everyone elses blog and that'll cause everyone to gain some sort of income which could be used for funding for the engineering department. The small things add up!!
ReplyDeleteI Agree! Stanley if you put adds up on your blog i will visit every day! Also, what is your blog URL? mine is www.jsgnado.blogspot.com
ReplyDeletewait hold on adsense (payment system) says you have to be 18 or older to recieve money. I cant [legally] sign up.
ReplyDeleteI think adds would be a good idea for a personal or business blog. On class blogs, I think adds would just be another distraction and even though they are not very intrusive, I wouldnt go that route with a class blog system. The profit would not be very high, and it wouldn't really be benefiting anybody that greatly.
